LOUF

We've been following the movements of Peckham-based artist/producer Louf ever since he released Skara EP back in 2020. He was raised in West London and immersed himself in the club scene when studying in Leeds, crafting his own brand of electronica that blurs the lines between ambient, dance and another magical sound that simply can't be put into words. This year, we were unsurprisingly blown away by his Kilopascal EP, a collection of five songs, including the booming, techno-tinted 'Trailing Dub' - a song that everyone deserves to hear blasted loud in a club. Tracks 'Don't Think Too Hard' and 'Tides' don't use drums, allowing a spacious and soothing rest-bite. Then there's the 'Tides (Saine Remix)', where Finland's best kept secret, aka Saine's re-imagining of 'Tides' is a dubbed out version that melds house with more abstract techniques. Whenever we listen to Louf, space and time becomes harmonious and life slows down in the best possible way. If you haven't already, you should definitely have a listen! -Ellie Rose-Davies
